Your pet’s annual visit consists of vaccines, a general physical exam which includes taking the pet’s temperature and pulse, auscultation of the heart and lungs, heartworm testing, abdominal and lymph node palpation, fecal exam, musculoskeletal evaluation, coat and skin evaluation, examination of eyes, ears, teeth, general orthopedic exam, nutrition counseling, zoonotic disease awareness (diseases passed between people and pets) and review of past medical history.
We offer a 3-year vaccine protocol. This means fewer injections to your pet and a lower cost to you.
Pet Vaccines
Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to protect your pet from serious, often life-threatening diseases. No matter your pet’s personality—playful, shy, adventurous, or laid-back—vaccines help strengthen their immune system and prevent illness before it ever has a chance to start.
Because every pet is unique, vaccination plans are carefully tailored based on age, breed, lifestyle, and regional risk factors. From essential vaccines like rabies and distemper to lifestyle-based options such as Bordetella or influenza, your pet receives the protection that best fits their needs. In some cases, a vaccine may be considered “core” depending on how and where your pet spends their time.
Core Vaccines for Dogs and Cats
- Dogs: Rabies, distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus, leptospirosis
- Cats: Rabies, feline calicivirus, herpesvirus, panleukopenia
Optional Vaccines Based on Lifestyle & Risk
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Often recommended for dogs who socialize with other dogs - Canine influenza
- Lyme disease
- Feline leukemia (FeLV)
Vaccines typically begin as early as 6–8 weeks of age and continue with boosters throughout life. Adult and senior pets may receive annual or extended-interval boosters depending on their health history. Kittens are often recommended to receive a series of FeLV vaccinations, with ongoing protection based on lifestyle.
Beyond protecting individual pets, vaccinations help reduce disease outbreaks and create healthier communities. Most importantly, they help your pet enjoy a longer, happier, and healthier life.
